NATURE NOTES IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD RT

   Bio 11

  1. Where is your place.  What time is your observation and what are the weather conditions?
My location is at Kingsway and Nanaimo where I had found a place with plants as you can see above. My observation was at 9:30pm and the weather felt quite warm although it was dark after sunset.

2. Why did you choose this place? What are the qualities of this place?
I chose this place because it is very close to my home and I walk past these very plants everyday and think they are absolutely stunning. This place has a great community and the plants are well taken care of.

3. What do your sensory perceptions tell you about this place?
This place is a very peaceful area with a great view, as well as healthy, beautiful plants.

  1. What do you see? What colours do you perceive?
I see beautiful plants which are healthy and always being taken care of and the colours are mainly green along with a dash of yellow.

  1. Close your eyes, what sounds do you hear?
The sounds I hear is the peaceful sounds of birds chirping as the sun sets.

  1. What is the mood?
The mood is very relaxing and chill as you can just open your mind and not worry about anything else but the moment.

  1. Take a deep breath, What do you smell, what scents are here?
I smell the fresh air along with the sweet scent of the plants

  1. What are some textures here, Reach out your hands, what do you touch? What is the temperature, the wind, is it hot, cold? humid?
I had touched the plants which felt very soft, smooth, and healthy as well as being wet. These plants are being very well taken care of and the temperature was quite hot as it was warm outside, giving the plants vitamin D.

  1. What are the living things around you?  The plants, animals? fungi?
The plants are the only living things around me besides trees as well.

  1. Movement and Circulation: how do you move to and from this place (bike, walk, run...)
For myself and anyone else in this community, this place is a safe and very convenient walking distance.

  1. Do you interact with others here?  (is this a path, a park, a yard, a sidewalk).  How?
Occasionally I will see my friends in this area or any other person walking by is very friendly and will take the time to greet you as well know you on a first name basis.
